Methods Of Work

TOC Tools
In a world filled with information we learn how to verify its usefulness and accuracy. To do that we use critical thinking tools in our daily tasks. They make it easier for children to both think in a ‘cause-and-effect’ way and remember ideas through understanding. Children can create hypotheses, analyse and use argumentation. In all their activities, children make decisions independently and predict their consequences. Through a thorough analysis of a conflict, they learn that it can be resolved successfully for both sides.
Mindfulness
Classes developing skills of concentration and relaxation. Through breathing exercises children learn to control their emotions. We also focus on self-control, strengthening muscles and relieving tension and stress. Simple physical exercises are our morning everyday rituals.
The Key to Learning
Cognitive programme developing skills of self-learning. Through creative playing a child learns how to think independently and search for imaginative solutions to problems. By using symbols they develop thinking at a higher level and build a strong foundation for vast knowledge that will be acquired in the future. It does not speed up but rather strengthens the process. It creates conditions for group work, which encourages the search for new and diverse solutions. A child broadens their experience through other children’s ideas and shifts from self-centred thinking to seeing oneself as a part of a wider community – a group. They become an important and unique member of a group and what they express is interesting and important. A child learns through playing and their learning process is easy, joyful and, most of all, effective.
Educational projects
In our preschool we use an original programme which developed after a few years of thorough observation and work with children. Our projects are closely connected with children’s areas of interest. During project work we become researchers who explore the cosmos and search for answers. During play time we focus on themes important for the little ones. We work together on problems. Together we also plan and do our project and evaluate which hypothesis proves to be plausible. We treat making mistakes as a natural element of reaching conclusions.
Lego Education
Lego blocks have been a hit among children for many years. Today, they are also used in education. Lego in Education is a programme for children in kindergarten. Children learn through doing certain activities with the use of blocks and through having fun. They discover connections and by recognising the many solutions to one problem, they learn that in education the process is more important than the outcome.
