Mission Statement

Mission

Our preschool is a place where your child will feel happy and safe. Our staff consists of beloved aunties, who will make sure your children feel at home. A good rapport with parents is important to us as it leads to building a safe environment for children, which is based on trust. We enrol children between two and a half and six years of age (in Gdynia and Nowy Dwór Gdański we offer 'Zero' class for our 6-year-olds). Small groups, carefully chosen educational tools, education free from punishment and prize as well as good rapport are very important to us. We choose teaching methods that influence children's development in a natural way. Our rooms are divided into theme corners, which promote self-reliance. The teachers are nearby, always ready to help. They support children but do not do their work. We organise regular meetings with parents during which we talk about education and we plan extra classes together making sure there is harmony between learning and playing. When your child graduates from our preschool, they will be curious about the world, they will be asking questions and they will be independent and full of enthusiasm for learning. Dear parents, make sure that the next step in their education will be equally inspiring.

Vision

We know that

  • children learn through play
  • enthusiasm is the most important aspect in education
  • adaptation is building a bridge between home and preschool
  • each child has their own internal motivation
  • children should be appreciated nor prized
  • growth is possible only in the environment of acceptance, forbearance and safety
  • controlling one’s emotions is a difficult process
  • playing music and singing together is experiencing ‘social resonance’
  • childhood is not a race
  • children learn from people they like
  • set boundaries should be cherished not disputed over
  • prize and punishment are ineffective
  • a child cannot be abandoned in their trials of being independent
  • digital world is not a scary monster

Adaptation

It is time for building a relationship between home and preschool. A well-built relationship will give a child a feeling of emotional safety. Each adaptation process is individualised, each is different, and each requires cooperation between parents and staff members. We plan adaptation time together with the parents taking their knowledge and intuition into consideration. On the basis of our observation and years long experience we prepared a short handbook for the parents which contains a few useful tips on how to help a child go through this difficult time.
